It's accepted that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and what one person finds aesthetically pleasing, another finds repulsive. But the media thrusts image upon image of slender, tanned, airbrushed women at us on a daily basis. Petite, thin women, with long straight golden hair. This is what the majority of western society apparently finds attractive.
Unlike fashion, the idea of what, or who, is beautiful stays fairly stable across the decades. But where does it come from? Who has decided that this is what we should find attractive?

In my opinion, to be beautiful is to have something interesting and unique about your appearance, with a strong body and feminine curves.
